Cookies and privacy
This explains what we collect when you use bolsteer.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
Bolsteer Ltd is the data controller for this website. We are registered in England, company number 17118922, registered office 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ICO:00014258165. You can reach us at info@bolsteer.com about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data.
What we collect
When you use the booking form
We ask for your first name, surname, company, email address and, if you choose to give it, a telephone number. We use these to reply to you and to put the call in the diary. There are no hidden fields and we do not buy or append anything to what you type.
When you submit the form we also record the time and your IP address in the notification email, and we hold a one way hash of your IP address for one hour. That is purely to stop the form being flooded, and it is deleted automatically.
Automatically, while you browse
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you use. It does not tell us who you are. If you decline, none of this happens and no analytics cookie is set.
The booking page runs Google reCAPTCHA, which looks at how the page is used to tell people apart from bots. This runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies, because without it the form would be unusable within a week. It is covered by Google's privacy policy.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To reply to your enquiry and hold the call. This is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch, and it is necessary to take steps you have requested before any contract.
- To keep the site working and free of spam. Our legitimate interest in a site that functions.
- Analytics. Your consent, which you give or withhold in the cookie banner and can change at any time.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use as few as we can get away with. Nothing is stored for analytics unless you accept it.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
cc_cookie | Bolsteer | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking. Strictly necessary. | 6 months |
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells returning visits apart from new ones. Only set if you accept analytics. | 2 years |
_ga_RP4MF4FG12 | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a single visit. Only set if you accept analytics. | 2 years |
_GRECAPTCHA | Spam protection on the booking form. Set by Google on their own domain. | 6 months |
You can change your mind whenever you like using the link, which is in the footer of every page. Declining does not break anything. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though that is a blunter instrument.
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It reaches these companies only because they run parts of this site for us:
- Krystal Hosting, United Kingdom, hosts the website.
- Google (Workspace, Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Calendar) handles our email, the analytics you consented to, spam protection, and the diary the call lands in.
- Cal.com takes the booking itself and sends the confirmation and the video link.
Some of these process data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where that happens it is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and booking details are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. After that they are deleted. If you would rather we deleted them sooner, email us and we will.
Analytics data is held by Google for 14 months and is not linked to you by name.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. You can also object to us processing it, or withdraw consent for analytics at any time without giving a reason. Email info@bolsteer.com and we will respond within one month.
If you think we have got it wrong, please tell us first so we can fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your data we will update this page and, where the change is significant, ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
